The Women's Forum aims to encourage and support women members to take a full and active part in the life of the Party. It sets out to establish and address the particular interests and needs of women in N.E. Beds. All women members are automatically members of the Women's Forum.
Current issues being tackled by the Women's Forum include schooling in Bedfordshire. The Forum is also looking at the possibility of altering the time of some constituency meetings in order to make them more 'women and child friendly'.
The local Labour Party's Women's Officer is Pat Mulder, who regards it as an honour and privilege to be in this post. She lives in Arlesey. Pat was previously active in the Hitchin and Harpenden constituency. She has also been Women's Officer in Brent South, London.
In relation to the National Health Service, Pat is active in helping to develop and improve the LINks(Local Involvement Networks) whereby patient opinion and comment is co-ordinated.
Pat is on hand to help all women members and supporters make a contribution. Contact her directly by e-mail or via the Secretary, Terry Carroll.
